SEMI-PERMANENT: 2018 TITLE SEQUENCE
Inspired by Ernst Haeckel’s work, this title sequence takes place in a world of microscopic beauty. It follows the story of microorganisms from birth to death, representing the theme of ‘creative tension’ in three stages: pushing and pulling, friction, and release.
Working with an international team of designers and animators, I focused on a range of abstract textures. These textures were created in Cinema 4D, using various combinations of procedural noise. By keeping everything material-based, I was able to quickly explore different looks.
The finished product is a combination of 3D, motion graphics, and practical cinematography. My abstract colors and textures were used in a variety of instances, including image sequences that were mapped onto independently animated shapes and geometry.
